New Orleans Saints safety Rickey Jefferson received unfortunate news about the injury he suffered in Friday's preseason loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

The 23-year-old was diagnosed Saturday with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee, according to a source. The injury will force Jefferson to miss the entire 2018 season.

Jefferson, a former four-star recruit from Destrehan HS, played at LSU from 2013-2015. He went undrafted in 2017 and signed with the Oakland Raiders but was cut before the season started. He signed with the Saints in August.
