Former LSU and current New Orleans safety Rickey Jefferson will miss the 2018 season after tearing his ACL in a preseason game vs. Arizona Cardinals on Friday. Per

New Orleans Saints safety Rickey Jefferson received unfortunate news about the injury he suffered in Friday's preseason loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

The 23-year-old was diagnosed Saturday with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee, according to a source. The injury will force Jefferson to miss the entire 2018 season.

Jefferson, a former four-star recruit from Destrehan HS, played at LSU from 2013-2015. He went undrafted in 2017 and signed with the Oakland Raiders but was cut before the season started. He signed with the Saints in August.
