LSU SET TO HOST ‘HOLD THAT TIGER’ SIGNING DAY SHOW NEXT WEDNESDAY
BATON ROUGE – “Hold That Tiger”, LSU’s National Signing Day Show hosted by Julie Stewart-Binks and Gordy Rush, will air live on SEC Network+, LSUsports.net, Facebook Watch and @LSUFootball on Twitter on Wednesday as the school formally announces the newest additions to the football team.
“Hold That Tiger” presented by Nissan will air from the South Stadium Club in Tiger Stadium starting at 8 a.m. CT on Dec. 19 and will remain on the air until approximately 12:30 p.m. when head coach Ed Orgeron closes the show with his breakdown and analysis of LSU’s early signees.
This is the second year for college football to have an early signing period for both junior college players and incoming freshmen. The early signing period runs for 72 hours from Dec. 19-21.
Players who don’t sign during the early signing period can do so during the traditional signing day starting on the first Wednesday in February.
Stewart-Binks will be joined on the broadcast by two members of LSU’s national championship teams – Jacob Hester and Brandon Taylor – along with sideline reporter Rush, as the group will spend just over four hours next Wednesday introducing the newest members of the Tiger football team to the LSU fan base.
Stewart-Binks, along with Rush, Hester and Taylor, will go in-depth on each of the early signees, breaking down video of the players and discussing how they will fit into the LSU system.
LSUsports.net reporter Emily Dixon will be part of the broadcast as well, interviewing members of the LSU coaching staff throughout the broadcast.
Rush, along with the Voice of the Tigers Chris Blair, will preview the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl game against eight-ranked UCF and give their thoughts on the Tigers 9-3 regular season. LSU Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Joe Alleva will stop by for an interview to talk about the state of LSU Athletics and how important signing day is to the Tigers.
