LSU junior safety JaCoby Stevens was named Co-SEC Defensive Player of the Week by the league office on Monday for his dominant performance vs. Mississippi State.

Stevens shared the honor with Texas A&M linebacker Buddy Johnson. Per SECSports.com:

-Had 8 tackles, a sack for a 1-yard loss and a spectacular one-handed interception in leading LSU to a 36-13 win over Mississippi State.

-The interception came just before halftime and led to an LSU touchdown and a 22-7 lead just five plays later.

-Sack came on a 3-and-4 situation in the third quarter and forced Mississippi State to punt.

-Overall, LSU forced three turnovers and held Mississippi State to 340 total yards and just 3-of-12 on third-down opportunities.
