LSU radio announcer Jim Hawthorne, otherwise known as the "Voice of the Tigers" is expected to return to broadcasting booth after missing the last few weeks while he recovered from a successful medical procedure.
Hawthorne will call the LSU-South Alabama basketball game at the PMAC on Thursday night and should be returning to his usual football duties after Saturday's game against Ole Miss.
Hawthorne, who has been calling LSU events for the past 35 years announced back in February that he will retire at the end of the 2015-2016 basketball season.
