LSU junior linebacker Donne Alexander said Tuesday that Kendell Beckwith tore his ACL during the Florida game and has been rehabbing in LSU's training room.

Beckwith will not play in LSU's Bowl game vs. Louisville on New Year's Eve or the Senior Bowl on January 28. He will likely miss the NFL Combine but could participate in LSU's pro day which is normally in March. Per The Advocate:
quote:

“We’ve been seeing him a lot lately because he’s been in the training room,” Alexander said. “We all go in there and pass by him and give him a few words and mess around.”

Alexander said Beckwith is hoping to be ready for LSU’s pro day, usually in March. Beckwith, projected as a second- to third-round draft pick, was invited to the Senior Bowl, scheduled for Jan. 28. The draft is set for April 27-29 in Philadelphia.

Beckwith could conceivably return for pro day, roughly four months away. Christian LaCouture tore his ACL in early August, and he returned to practice last week.

Very sad news. Kendall is the leader of our defense, and should have been a high draft pick. You hate to see this. However, with his work ethic and determination, he will make it in the NFL. As Ghost Of Colby said, someone will get a top flight LB at a bargain price so to speak. We know it won't be the Saints, as they don't draft players from LSU. How's that working out?

They better draft him.

Unfortunately this is exactly why players don't come back when they have a chance to go

Damn. Rumors were true. He will attend combine, but for interviews only. Unfortunately will drop in the draft & will not be 100% during training camp or the start of the 2017 season. But will be a steal for someone.
