LSU senior center Liam Shanahan was named to the Rimington Award watch list on Friday.

The Dave Rimington Trophy is awarded to the player considered to be the best center in college football. Dave Rimington was a center who played at the University of Nebraska from 1979 to 1982.

Shanahan, a transfer from Harvard, started all ten games as LSU's center last season. He returns to the team in 2021 by taking advantage of the NCAA's extra year of eligibility and will anchor LSU's veteran offensive line.

I think he will make a big step with a real off-season and will be one of the better centers in the SEC.
