LSU junior defensive back Jalen Mills was one of 42 players named to the 2014 Lott IMPACT Trophy Watch List.

Mills received First-Team Freshman All-America honors in 2012, and finished third on the team in 2013 with 67 total tackles and had three interceptions. He played both cornerback and safety last season.

The Lott IMPACT Trophy, now in its 11th season, was established by The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation to honor college football’s Defensive IMPACT Player of the Year.

The award is presented to the college defensive player of the year with equal weight given to personal character as well as athletic performance.

LSU defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey was the recipient of the award in 2007, while cornerback/return specialist Patrick Peterson was selected as a finalist in 2010.
