LSU starting right tackle and Houston native Toby Weathersby said Monday that his grandparents are trapped in their the Briar Creek neighborhood home as flood waters rise.
Weathersby and his mother, who is safe in a 2nd-floor apartment, both urged his grandparents to evacuate their house but they wanted to stay put and refuse to get onto rescue boats.
At one point Weathersby said he wanted to pack up his truck and drive to Houston from Baton Rouge to go help them but decided it was best for him to stay put.
