Stephen Lew-USA TODAY Sports
During the SEC Coaches Teleconference on Wednesday, head coach Ed Orgeron said that Joe Burrow's consistency throughout fall camp is the reason why he was named LSU's starter.
quote:Orgeron also explained that since LSU was installing a new offense, Burrow was not behind when he arrived this summer.
"It was very close but overall but he was the most consistent quarterback throughout the whole camp," Orgeron said.
quote:He also added that backup QB Myles Brennan needs to be ready to play in case anything happens.
“Joe is very smart,” Orgeron said. “We knew that when we recruited him. He’s a tireless worker. It was an advantage for him that we were putting in a new offense, so he wasn't that far behind anybody else. He was there for the first day of installation for a lot of this offense."

"Myles is one play away," Orgeron said. "We expect him to be ready to play if called upon. Both quarterbacks are prepared."
