LSU cornerback DJ Pickett was spotted wearing No. 5 at the Tigers' first fall practice on Wednesday, signaling a change from last season when he wore No. 3.
Pickett will now be the first player since Jayden Daniels in 2023 to wear No. 5.
Lane Kiffin spoke with reporters after practice on Wednesday and revealed that Pickett was promised No. 5 during his high school recruitment, and now the staff is honoring his wishes.
For those wondering, no player has worn No. 9 since Joe Burrow played for the Tigers.
