The Dallas Morning News revealed the contract details of Texas A&M defensive coordinator John Chavis who left LSU after the teams bowl game in December.

For his efforts to fix A&M’s troubled defense, “Chief” will make $1.5 million in 2015, $1.55 million in 2016 and $1.6 million in 2017, not including potential bonuses. The contract gives A&M the option to extend the deal for a fourth season. Chavis reportedly made $1.3 million a year at LSU. Chavis is among the top-ranked assistant coaches nationally, with new Auburn defensive coordinator Will Muschamp, the former Florida head coach, reportedly making between $1.6 million and 1.8 million over a three-year deal.
Chavis was the defensive coordinator at LSU from 2009-2014.

He didn't leave LSU AFTER the bowl game he had taken the job before the bowl game. He talked to Sumlin minutes before the game started and tanked the game out of spite.

He attacked his own character with how he handled the whole thing. He should own it but he won't.
