The Tigers landed a familiar face on JUCO National Signing Day when former LSU commit Jeremy Cutrer signed with Tigers on Wednesday.

A native of Kentwood, La., Cutrer originally signed with LSU as part of the 2013 class, but when the four-star high school prospect was ruled ineligible, he enrolled at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College instead.

Cutrer has three years left to play two seasons of college football.

According to Chad Huff, who has coached Cutrer these past two years, the Tigers are getting a 'leader on the field.' Per The Advocate:

Cutrer blossomed when coaches moved him from receiver to cornerback this season, Huff said.

“That’s his position,” the coach said. “We figured that out after moving him over there. He really came out of his shell and grew up. He’s a very physical corner. Can really run. Very athletic. Got good range and size.”

Cutrer was named defensive team captain this year, Huff said. The coach called him “a leader on the field.”
