LSU received some great news on Wednesday when four-star defensive tackle Tyler Shelvin committed to the Tigers for the class of 2017.

Defensive line coach Ed Orgeron reportedly offered a scholarship to Shelvin Wednesday morning and he committed shortly after.

Shelvin, a 6-3, 305-pound prospect from Lafayette, LA (Northside), is rated as the No. 4 defensive tackle in the country and the No. 3 overall player in the state of Louisiana for 2017, according to 247Sports.

LSU now has two commitment for the 2017 class in Shelvin and five-star linebacker Dylan Moses.
