According to, The SEC announced its 11th annual men’s basketball coaches preseason All-SEC first and second teams Thursday, and two LSU players were included in the list.

LSU sophomore Jordan Mickey was named to the first team and sophomore Jarell Martin was named to the second team.

Eleven different schools are represented on the two teams with Kentucky having five selections while Florida and LSU each had two selections. In all, 29 different players received votes for the coaches’ teams.

Mickey and Martin have received a host of accolades this preseason including being named among the nation’s top sophomores for 2014-15 by Athlons and among the top 100 players in the country according to at least two basketball sites.
LSU will open up the 2014-2015 Basketball season on Saturday against Gardner-Webb at noon in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Here is a preview for the game.
