D1Baseball released updated postseason projections on Tuesday and have LSU in the "Last Five In" category, playing in the Tallahassee regional as a 3-seed.
quote:

As always, this is a projection: we’re not trying to illustrate what the field would look like if the season ended today. We’re still looking ahead, taking into account remaining schedules and our evaluations of the talent of the contenders, in addition to their bodies of work, of course.

Last Five In: Illinois, Louisiana Tech, LSU, Mississippi State, Washington

First Five Out: Arizona, Purdue, Michigan, TCU, Iowa

The postseason projections are compiled by D1Baseball experts Kendall Rogers, Aaron Fitt and Mark Etheridge.

From a pitching standpoint, a #4 seed can be better than a #3. Force the #1 seed to pitch their ace in game 1 versus saving him. Otherwise, we face the #1 already with at least one pitcher gone, and they still have their ace.

That Fayette-nam reg. would be a salty one: Arkansas Oral Roberts Louisiana Tech Oklahoma Fla State has a history of tanking in their regional so there is that going for the Tigers
