The Advocate is reporting that LSU first baseman Greg Deichmann will return to school for his junior season.

A draft-eligible sophomore, Deichmann was selected in the 26th round by the Minnesota Twins in last week’s MLB Draft. He said Monday he will play summer baseball in the Cape Cod League and it is a “done deal” that he will return to school.

Rotating between first and third base, Deichmann started 62 of LSU’s 66 games, leading the team with 10 home runs and 57 RBI. He ended the season on a six-game hitting streak, including four home runs in the Tigers’ six-game NCAA tournament run.

If true which I imagine it is then this is a smart choice by him to come back and try to increase his stock. Not to mention a hell of a retention by LSU.
