LSU Baseball assistant coach Will Davis has been hired to become the head coach at Lamar.
Davis will begin at the conclusion of the 2016 season and will replace Jim Gilligan who is set to retire following the 2016 season.
Details as the whether Davis joins Lamar right away as coach in waiting or remains with LSU for the 2016 season have yet to be determined.
