LSU head coach Paul Mainieri announced Monday afternoon that freshman right-handed pitcher Cole Henry will start for the Tigers vs. South Carolina in the SEC Tournament on Tuesday night.
Mainieri hopes that Henry will be able to go three innings in his return to the mound after missing that past few weeks with elbow soreness.

"I think he's ready to go out there and compete and do the job," Mainieri said. "It's important that he gets out there this week because it's a precursor for the NCAA Tournament. If he can go out there and throw three really good inning tomorrow night, with a reasonable pitch amount, then perhaps next week in the NCAA Tournament he can throw five innings. Then that gives us three bonafide starting pitchers for the NCAA Tournament."
