It was announced on Friday that Aaron Nola is among 47 pitchers on the first watch list for the 2014 National Pitcher of the Year Award.

Nola is 7-1 this season with an SEC-best 0.88 ERA in 71.2 innings. He is ranked No. 3 in the nation in strikeouts and is No. 5 in the country in ERA.

The award which is sponsored by Diamond will be presented during the National College Baseball Hall of Fame's annual Night of Champions on June 28 in Lubbock, Texas.
