After two seasons Texas redshirt freshman wide receiver Chris Jones has been granted unconditional release from the school and is transferring. At Daingerfield High School, he helped win consecutive Class 2A Division II titles and a 30-2 record in 2008-09. In two seasons there he had 64 catches for 1,475 yards and 17 touchdowns, along with 611 yards and nine touchdowns rushing. Wonder where he'll go.

He is leaving because he has received zero playing time and feels like overall that UT is not a good fit for him and wants a new start at another school where he can step in and play immediately. In the early going he has already heard from Oregon, Houston, Okla.St, TCU & LA Tech. Oregon has been blowing his phone up and LA Tech & Houston are pursuing him with great fervor.

Why is he leaving and why is the release unconditional? I would like to know the answer to these questions.
