re: Lets be honest. If we fired O tom., does anyone have faith in Alleva making a good hire? - Fabius on 9/17/17 at 4:54 pm
Alleva is the problem. Fire him. The new AD can fire Orgeron and find a real coach. If Alleva fires Orgeron, Alleva's track record suggests that the replacement he hires will be another failure. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Blame F. King and Alleva not O - Fabius on 11/27/16 at 1:07 pm
Just shows how little you know - about anything. Given the cards and the players LSU did a remarkably professional job of hiring the head coach. They quietly stood up to Fisher's ridiculous demands, and quickly told Herman not to play games. For those two it was about money and career. How ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Miles on SEC Now - Fabius on 1/15/15 at 8:46 am
Here's the problem. Miles and Cameron picked Jennings and Harris to be the top two and, as a result, ran off the other scholarship QBs. Then we hear that Harris can't learn the offense and Miles now admits that Jennings play was painful. How did these two end up as the top two? Was Jennings ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (4)
re: No Excuse for Such Horrible QB Play/Recruiting at LSU - Fabius on 1/12/15 at 10:41 pm
LSU recruited both JT Barrett and Cardele Jones fwiw
And neither would have reached their potential here. Its coaching, not recruiting....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (4)
re: Refreshing to watch a wide open offense even with a lead - Fabius on 1/12/15 at 10:38 pm
Nice to watch good, creative, aggressive coaching. Amazing how OSU can play so well with a third string QB who was a mere three star recruit out of high school. Might have something to do with play calling and coaching....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (2)
re: Brandon Harris- The Future - Fabius on 12/2/14 at 2:02 am
All sounds good. But he is a FRESHMAN. Just because he is highly recruited does not mean that he should be on the field from the beginning. Seems our fans want every freshman to start from day one. There are freshman who should and others have to wait. Fans create a lot of this drama ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (3)
re: Would you trade a couple more losses this season for getting BH ready for 2015? - Fabius on 12/2/14 at 1:51 am
Absolutely. Harris is the only hope that this team has to compete for championships over the next two years. His development has been delayed a year while the 2014 class has burned a year of eligibility. If he starts next year, he will need half a season or more to settle in and we could lose a c...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Coach Miles Quote - Fabius on 11/28/14 at 1:53 pm
I do think harris would have come in the game if we could have put a&m away. But we always kept them in the game.
If Miles held true to form and "victory was assured" then Harris might have come in to hand the ball off a few times in the closing minutes in order to run the cloc...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: The QB competition at LSU - Fabius on 11/23/14 at 9:14 pm
Short story. Harris has shiwn tremendous potential in every outing except his first SEC road start against Auburn when the D was still playing terrible and we got down early. Jennings has shiwn little to nothing. Les Mikes logic. That means Jennings should be the starter. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Offensive Analysis of Arkansas game - Fabius on 11/23/14 at 3:07 pm
I rewatched part of the game and came away with the opposite conclusion. Jennings had a wide open receiver on third down and over threw a 10 yard pass by about 15 feet over the receiver's head. Missed an easy 2 yard throw on another drive. Fumbled to kill a scoring opportunity. A number of the r...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: LSU's 2014 Passing Game - A Tale of 2 Seasons - Fabius on 11/21/14 at 2:52 am
The first half of the season was mostly Jennings completing a few long passes to Dural and Harris lighting it up in the second halfs against MSU and NMST. Harris hasn't played since the Auburn game and opposing teams have figured out that the only pass that Jennings throws well is the deep rainbow ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (7)
re: What did Miles see? - Fabius on 11/19/14 at 7:51 am
I think it has already been discussed on this board. Harris doesn't put in the time in the film room that Jennings does and he has a year less experience. I'm sure Miles is just holding Harris out to both keep from winning and aggravate fans. That crazy Miles.
This makes no sense....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Reading this board, you'd think AJ was the only player on the field... - Fabius on 11/17/14 at 5:28 pm
QBs job is to get the ball to the player in a position to make a play. Not seeing open receivers, not finding ths single coverage and mismatches, not throwing receivers open ( back shoulder, etc.), missing open receivers, bad ball placement, throws that are too early or too late are all QB failures...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: do people really think Harris isn't beating out AJ? - Fabius on 11/16/14 at 1:08 pm
Harris has a better arm, is more mobile and is bright. Those are all the tools he needs. The rest is up to the coaches. If the best they can get out of their QBs is what we see from AJ, then they are bad coaches....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: do people really think Harris isn't beating out AJ? - Fabius on 11/16/14 at 12:54 pm
Jennings has been terrible all season. Harris has at least shown potential and has played better against the same opponents than Jennings (Miss. St., NMST). Harris got one shot, on the road against Auburn in his first SEC start. He showed some nerves (hardly a surprise) was pulled and has bee...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: We have finished in the top 5 one time in the last 7 years - Fabius on 11/16/14 at 7:37 am
He never had the brains for the job. People thought he was quirky and funny when really he's just not a very smart guy.
This. Some people think that he can't be as stupid as he appears because he wins 9 or 10 games a year. He wins because he inherited a well-funded program in a ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: 2015- We're going to be sick - Fabius on 11/13/14 at 6:38 am
We won't be "sick" until we have a balanced offense with a competent passing attack. That, if it ever happens, needs to match up with a dominant defense for Miles' approach to yield a championship. 2011 - probably the best defensive team I've ever seen, but not enough to win it all with JJ at QB...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Can we all agree now that next year is the year? - Fabius on 11/13/14 at 12:21 am
Jennings will remain the starter at QB so we will again be one dimensional. O-line will be young, so it will take time for run game to gel. We lose one game early due to no offensive production, lose to Bama again and lose at least one other game because the ball bounces funny, we get behind and ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
