LSU 59th in team defense
UK 29th in team defense
ATM 28th in team defense (for those wanting Elko) basically Elko numbers but a DC five years younger than Elko

Elko has been successful at two different stops under different HCs. This guy has been a DC for 3 seasons running Stoops defense. Any more brain busters?

Elko's numbers are in the West, and White's are in the East. The East may as well be the ACC.

He’d be a strong hire.

Man some of you guys are dumb as hell. It's fair to question how good he is since it's Stoops defense. What you can do though is look at all his time at Kentucky and see that as soon as he arrived there, they saw a noticeable increase in performance in both LBs and defense. He's also working with Kentucky which is a step above the Vanderbilts of the world. It would be a homerun hire. Don't be stupid.

Yeah, but the talent level in the UK is not near the level of Louisiana, Alabama, etc. because American football is not as popular in Europe.

Elkins had far better recruits to work with so your comparison is a wash at best.

No one going to point out A&M was 3rd in the country in ppg at 16 and Kentucky gave up a TD more a game at 22?

I’m too lazy to look up schedules, any common opponents to compare besides LSU?

Rush defense (yds allowed per carry) looks about the same as LSU.

Pass def efficiency was also about the same as LSU.

Last time we gambled on some fella because of speculation about his mediocre accomplishments with inferior talent, Dinardo wasn’t exactly a home run.

There is no such stat.

And those numbers don't match any real categories . LINK

Still a big difference in east vs west though.

Kentucky didn't face Ole miss or Alabama. These two are among the top offenses in college football.

Kentucky's schedule is pretty atrocious.

ULM W 45-10
Mizz W 35-28
Chattanooga W 28-23
South Carolina W 16-10
Florida W 20-13
LSU W 42-21
UGA L 30-13
Miss St L 31-17
Tenn L 45-32
Vandy W 34-17
NM St W 56-16
Louisville W 52-21

New Mexico St, Vandy and ULM are among the worst teams in college football, so don't mean it's Kentucky's talent. Look at those terrible teams. Chattanooga, South Carolina.

I am not here to say whether White is a bad or good hire though. I just wanted to point out how horrific Kentucky's schedule is. I'd say they still had more talent than a majority of the teams they played.

Specifically the defense or the team in general? Does that factor in turnovers setting up the opposition in good field position?
