I booked a 9:15 AM flight months ago thinking I could cruise in after breakfast.

You very likely can just cruise through (as long as it's terminal C). I actually find that time of morning to really not be bad at all, the worst is from 5-7am with the early morning flights.

Taking a look at today's flights from terminal C,
AAL390 A319 Miami Intl (KMIA) Tue 08:48AM CDT
NKS657 A319 Houston Bush Int'ctl (KIAH)Tue 08:49AM CDT
AAL978 A319 Dallas/Fort Worth Intl (KDFW) Tue 09:37AM CDT

There's really only three flights from 8:30-10am so I'd say you should be safe. However, if your flight is on Southwest, you may be stuck in some lines as they've got a lot more flights out during that time (9)

Thanks. It's a Delta flight and the airport desk said it was looking good today. Never know as we get closer to holiday weekend.

Terminal D (Delta/United) security hasn't been all that great recently from what I've heard (we'll wait for the delta flyers to chime in here). This morning it looks like only 7 or 8 flights were in your time range so it shouldn't be too bad. I'd still get there early because you really never know anymore

Will I be able to bypass or head to any shorter security lines with delta comfort+? Flying out of MSY to CUN at 8:30 am on a Saturday in June.

We're going to need a delta expert in here. I'm not sure if comfort + gives you access to Sky Priority for security, it looks like it does for boarding at the gate though.

Access to Sky Priority boarding and dedicated overhead bin space means Delta Comfort+ customers will be among the first on the plane to get their carry-on stowed

Thanks. That's where I was confused. My boarding pass will probably let me know. Trying to decide if I want to make the trip to New Orleans fri night or just drive in Saturday am. I am not into being at the airport with 2 kids at 530 am. 630 is bad enough.

No, this has nothing to do with going through security. You may get to board the plane with the Gold Priority (after first class, Diamond members, and Platinum members).

I will say that I haven't seen the airport too crowded on saturday mornings. Most tourists tend to fly to nola on friday afternoon/evening and out on sunday. However it is a holiday weekend so I'm guessing it may be more crowded than usual with people leaving the area

Just boarded a United flight at MSY.
Passed the American terminal and it was awful, packed, long. TSA agents says it had been backed up and slow all AM. This is anything but news.

I went to Korea last month out of Dallas. On my return flight from Korea I had a two hour layover. I have precheck and missed my connecting flight due to security. They had one person checking the longest line I had ever seen. People were furious to say the least

This is the flight I booked back for this coming September (Seoul-DFW-BTR) with 2 1/2 hours in DFW. If need be the easiest solution is probably rechecking any luggage in that downstairs area after customs, taking one of the buses outside over to one of the other terminals (maybe A or C?), then taking the train back. Reclearing security in terminal D was a mess when I flew back in February LHR-DFW-BTR.

Flying SWA to Denver this morning. I had TSA Pre, Mrs. Sheep didn't. She got through security faster than I did.

Less than 5 minutes for either.

Parking was a frick show, though. Long Term AND Credit Card lots were full, so I had to park in Short Term. There were open spots in Long Term, but the garage was closed.

frick New Orleans parking.
