re: So does Bama go after Dunn now? - OldManRiver
That 34K included travel expenses, entertainment and dining expenses which they had built in.
That must have been some time ago, tuition alone now is 44K, plus room/board is more than 60K. My wife's co-worker just graduated one from there, and is now considerably richer ...

re: Tulsa cop not guilty in fatal shooting of unarmed black man - OldManRiver
Sorry, I'm not ok with police being able to execute people freely just because their commands aren't met in a timely fashion or how they would like. That's a bit too much power for my taste...

re: Tulsa cop not guilty in fatal shooting of unarmed black man - OldManRiver
It's going to take a lot of unarmed white people getting shot by police for anyone to care
My wife is almost deaf. It's not out of the realm of possibility that if she were to get pulled over for a traffic violation, she would be reaching for her license or registration while the co...

re: Tulsa cop not guilty in fatal shooting of unarmed black man - OldManRiver
Why was he going back to his vehicle?
No clue. We do know after the fact he wasn't to get a gun. But again, to give cops free reign to engage people with deadly force for "thoughts' or "feelings" without any repercussions is a bad precedent. LA is an open carry state. What happen...

re: Tulsa Officer NOT guilty in shooting death of Terrance Crutcher - OldManRiver
Honestly getting pretty sick of almost no one being at fault for this type of outcome. If subjectivity is now law, just tell me. I'll do shite differently, too.
She shot him because he reached in the car. She had no idea why he reached in, so she just shot him. The cop standing ne...

re: Tulsa cop not guilty in fatal shooting of unarmed black man - OldManRiver
None. However, the court of "I'm not dying at work today and going home to my kids" prevailed.
So a cop shoots a guy who is unarmed b/c he does something she doesn't like. Nothing he did on that video showed any type of threat to her life. She THOUGHT she was in danger b/c of her o...

re: Geaux Bulldogs!!!! (The UGA ones) - OldManRiver
It matters because it allows us to only have to win 2 instead of a sweep
We are 1/2 game up right now. Whether we are up a full game or tied next week, 2/3 does it regardless. There is no scenario we have to sweep to win the West....

re: Is this a damn tv or not? - OldManRiver
It's not techinally a "TV" because it doesn't have a tuner. Unless you need OTA capability, this seems like a good deal to me...

re: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Spoiler Thread - OldManRiver
No, which was disappointing.
The only thing I really didn't like in the entire movie was the lack of tie-in/advancement in the post-credits scene(s). I guess I've just become accustomed to it, but to not see anything leading up to Infinity War was surprising. It makes me wonder if ...

re: Breaking: Officer Roy Oliver was just charged with the murder of Jordan Edwards (Dallas) - OldManRiver
ONLY ting that matters is that if the Suspect is black and the cop was white.............
You might want to educate yourself a little on this case. It's maybe the most obvious case of unnecessary escalation and violence from a cop you can find....

re: Gravy Chambers on the radio at 9... - OldManRiver
It truly doesnt matter.
For the DOJ it obviously didn't matter. But for any state charges, or the inevitable civil suit, it will surely matter. If it appears on video that Salamoni got out of the car in a mindset ready to shoot, then it's easy for an attorney to say that when they ...

re: Gravy Chambers on the radio at 9... - OldManRiver
All right, Gary's on record saying there is VIDEO of Salamoni getting out of the car, walking straight up to Sterling and placing a gun against his head. Time for reporters to press DOJ or Landry's office for confirmation of this. If it doesn't exist like that, then it's time to send Gary and his ...

re: Sterling decision released by DOJ...no charges for officers - OldManRiver
hen why did the DOJ keep it a secret from everyone EXCEPT the Sterling family?
Maybe it's not germaine to the burden of proof of a Civil Rights violation? Honestly, this whole day feels like the DOJ, the lawyers and the "community leaders " are all making sure the protest...

re: Sterling decision released by DOJ...no charges for officers - OldManRiver
One other interesting nugget, video tape and audio proves that NO racial slurs were used at any time. I wonder if that's why the DOJ couldn't prosecute a Civil Rights case even if they believe some type of crime was committed....

re: Sterling decision released by DOJ...no charges for officers - OldManRiver
Gary is live on Facebook right now. Unless he's straight up lying and involving others in it, the DOJ did confirm what the aunt said about the gun to the head. Painting a pretty rough picture of Salamoni right now while saying Lake did nothing wrong....
