I don't do much souvenir shopping. I usually look for a local bike shop and buy a bike jersey but thats about it, except for one thing.....coffee stirrers.

I don't know how, when or where it started but I probably have 20 of them from all over the place. If I get one, I usually keep it and take it home. Every morning when I grab my first cup of joe it takes me back for even one brief moment to wherever I was when I first got that stirrer.

We do this. We get the goofy 3D looking ones showing whatever kinda represents that country or city. Have an Amsterdam Sex Shop, Taj Mahal, Angko Wat, Sagrada, etc.

I also like to keep a small bill of currency to place under the magnet.

Same. No idea what happened to them. Likely tossed them all when I moved out of LA.

My thing to buy now on big trips is usually a small picture frame with the name of where I'm at on the frame. I'll then put my favorite picture of myself and my husband from that trip in it.

Yeah all of the Magnets have the name of the city we were in along with something that symbolized that city.

Kinda cheesy but when we were in our 20's. Wife and I would go somewhere for our anniversary. It's July 1st. So we would go to hard rocks cafes and get a fourth of July pin. We did that for about 8 staight years.

That's what we do as well. It's fun to decorate our tree with ornaments that have a personal story

We do this too. But it is such a conundrum as to where to draw the line. 1 for every symbolic city/place or 1 for every country? For ex: recently in Italy I couldn't decide whether I needed a Colosseum magnet as well as a gondola. Stuck with just the gondola in the end

Got some other cool ones from all over the world. Wish I was more creative.

Do have some cool Tiki statues from Hawaii. I want more stuff like that.

The wife likes to get illustration heavy children's books when we are overseas. At first I was confused but it is actually kind of cool.

The process of finding the Italian or French or German counterpart to Curious George/babar the elephant creates a bit too much time in bookstores, but i'll gladly trade that for any desire to buy designer goods in places like Paris.

Currently my wife collects magnets and we also keep all our our tickets (train, plane, etc) from since we got married.

I always thought it'd be cool to decorate our house by shipping back a piece of furniture from each country. Sadly, thus far this hasn't happened.

What a great idea. We bought our daughter a porcelain tea set from Paris on our last trip..came with a basket and everything. It's in the attic now but something she can pass down to her daughter.

We could take a trip to a nearby suburb and my GF would want to stop and look for an ornament.
