re: Chicago Trip Journal - foreverLSU
I'm curious what the area around the White Sox and Bears stadiums is like?
I wouldn't hang around outside of US Cellular Field at night if the Sox aren't playing, but walking to the stadium from the CTA on a game day won't be an issue. Soldier Field is in a good part of town ...

re: Chicago Trip Journal - foreverLSU
You picked a great weekend to visit! The weather was amazing (and living in LA I can only imagine how much you appreciated the cooler temps) and perfect for being outside. Looks like you hit a lot of the major sites. For whatever reason the fountains with the faces on them really creep me out and I ...

re: Is Chicago the most dangerous city to live in. - foreverLSU
I live in Lakeview, and we've had a disturbing rise in crime this year. Thug POS's take the red line up to the Wrigleyville/Boystown area and prey on drunk people leaving the bars. Most of the robberies occur in that 2-4am time frame, but there have also been a number of reported break ins in the ar...

re: Chicago must do's - foreverLSU
Pomp and Circumstance is on Wells Street just a couple of blocks from Second City. I've heard good things about Cafe Ba Ba Reeba but haven't actually been. In Wicker Park about 2 miles west of Second City is a pizza place called Piece Pizza. Good stuff and they also brew their own beer in house. It'...

Cubs game- come up here early and have a pregame bevy at Old Crow or Sluggers. IF you want a Chicago style hot dog at the ballpark, you need to get it from the cart vendors- not the main concession vendors on the bottom level. Also- you don't put ketchup on a Chicago dog! Girl and the Goat is gr...
Going next month as well. Is there anything special about the Lincoln Zoo or is that skippable?
You can skip it IMO. If you've done Audubon in NOLA you'll probably be underwhelmed by the LP Zoo.
Also you have to eat at a nice steakhouse when I Chicago.
No yo...

re: I need a MUST DO list of things in SF - foreverLSU
My husband and I rented bikes, biked over the Golden Gate to Sausalato, and spent the afternoon there before taking the ferry back to SF. The company we rented the bikes from had a drop off point right at the pier. I'd recommend biking over and taking the ferry back, unless you're really into uphill...

re: Must Sees and Things to Do in Downtown Chicago - foreverLSU
I'd recommend buying the hop on/off bus tour pass for 2 reasons: A. You get a pretty decent tour of the city. The route goes thru downtown, but you can purchase supplemental tours to wrigley and some other areas B. Because you can hop on and off an unlimited amount of times, it can be...
