It has been about 5 years since I last flew anywhere. I am flying out of MSY this weekend, domestic.

I have purchased tickets, and will get boarding passes at the kiosk when I get to the airport. No bags as they are being sent with family who opted to drive.

Is there anything else I should be doing right now to prepare? Driver's License should suffice?

We are parking at Park N Fly... how often do shuttles run from the lot to the terminal?

Planning on getting there about 2 hours ahead of time. This is still plenty, right?

sounds like you are fine, shuttles run every 10-15 minutes

I would honestly recommend downloading the app for whatever airline you're flying to your phone and have your tickets on there. You can skip the kiosk and go straight to TSA since you're not checking bags.

Lines to print boarding passes are HUGE these days. Either download the app to have your boarding pass on your phone or either print them if you have a printer or "print to pdf" and email the pdf to yourself. Then pull up the file on your phone. The bar code should scan.

I like to screenshot my boarding pass just in case anything wants to go to shite at the last second.

My wife used to do it all the time and I thought it was silly, until my ticketmaster app crapped out right before a show in Vegas.

Have a good trip.

I love not having baggage, it makes the flying process so easily done.

The screenshot is great advice here. The American app and/or Passbook eff up on me all the time.

I've had too many hiccups and several times where the reader went down at the gate or before. They'll print you a new one, but for some carriers, like SW, it screws up boarding.

I almost always print my boarding passes at the airport. I can't recall it ever taking more than a minute or two as I walk in.

Park N Fly is usually fast as hell. A couple of weeks ago I dropped my wife off at the United gate, parked the car and used their shuttle and I was back curbside at the Unite Gate in 13 minutes.

Except when the lot is full. And both short and long term lots onsite at the airport are full.

Yes, this actually happens at MSY. More than once in a blue moon too. Ridiculous.

A week ago at MSY the line to print boarding pass was literally out the door and by a good bit too. That's why I never check bags and print my bp. Even on long international trips

In my experiences they have usually added more shuttles when the demand required it. I don't think it has ever taken me more than 20 minutes or so to get from my car back curbside.

Shuttle service has never been a problem, but I'm talking about the lot being full. Like, no more parking spots.

The only time I've seen this is over Thanksgiving week. If you reserve online, I think you're guaranteed a single spot where you can get in/out but if you don't have a reservation then they'll double park you or force you to leave your keys. I could be completely off though

You're correct. You have a reservation you're guaranteed a spot. I've seen it a few times on big holiday weekends especially when LSU is playing out of town as well.

I'm super paranoid when I fly, so I will have...

1) App with boarding pass pulled up

2) boarding pass on mobile website pulled up from link in text

3) boarding pass in passbook

4) boarding pass in camera photos

5) copy of paper boarding pass I printed at home before I left or at the office

You realize as long as you have your ID, record locator, or FF number they can reprint a boarding pass or mark that you boarded the plane?
