re: Who Approves of Republicans Shutting Down the Govt for the Wall? - TigerDeBaiter
I'm for shutting it down for good. So, sure, why not. The last time it was "shut down" I don't think anything really happened. ...

re: Builders of the OT - fireplaces - TigerDeBaiter
So there's really three options. Not two. Ventless, which is the cheapest. Direct vent gas, which is a bit more than the ventless. And then a true wood burning masonry fireplace/chimney. This will easily be more than $10k and will likely leak!...

re: Calling all real estate appraisers! - TigerDeBaiter
I'm thinking you don't actually own an extra acre and a half. I mean, I just don't see how anyone with a pulse (including you) would miss that difference. Perhaps your land was subdivided before it was sold to you and the tax collector has conflicting information? An acre is 43,560 square feet....

re: United CEO doubles down, calls passenger "belligerent", claims United followed rules - TigerDeBaiter
For the third time- why was the doctor taken on off the plane if it wasn't oversold?
Because they had 4 employees that needed a ride so that a larger chain reaction of cancellations/delays could be avoided. They own the damn plane, so they can cancel the flight if they want. T...

re: Helping my dad decide between lump sum or annuity - TigerDeBaiter
60. $587/month or $105,000 lump sum 65. $839/month or $119,000 lump sum
I'll just point out the obvious. Don't wait until 65 and then take the lump sum. $14,000 is a horrible return over 5 years. Under 3%, so basically he gets nothing for waiting 5 years. He could do much ...

re: Fun with student loan refinancing - TigerDeBaiter
It just reads very oddly
Very normal. Just keep paying on your own schedule. It's set up that way to get you to pay only what you have to and collect the most possible interest. Make yourself a schedule and stick to it. I guess you don't have to anymore, now that you refinan...

re: New Washer and Dryer - TigerDeBaiter
It does use less of both actually. Most of the units use DC motors with inverters so they draw less wattage.
You're the expert, so I'll take your word. It just seems after setting it to "extra rise", "high fill", and all the other stuff required to actually get the soap out an...

re: New Washer and Dryer - TigerDeBaiter
This. We have one of the "high efficiency" top loaders without an agitator. It doesn't wash clothes as well as our old agitating one
Same here. It just pisses on the clothes from the top, instead of filling up the tub all the way. So aggravating. Probably uses more water (and de...

re: Best place to super white quartzite counter top slabs - TigerDeBaiter
Cristalo, Mother of Pearl, or Taj Mahal are your best bets. I have the latter in my kitchen and looks great. Taj Mahal varies a good bit, I happened to score some very "clean" and consistent slabs at triton stone. They are almost exactly like this: [img][URL=http://s1269.photobucket.com/user...
