Upgrading now. At 24%.
Nervous.

ETA. UH OH. stopped at 24%
ETA. all well. Restarted itself
ETA. 71%
ETA. another restart
Done. All well. So far.

* new Edge browser much faster than my Chrome, excellent
* Graphics much improved on desktop and apps, can't imagine why that is
* nice search bar on desktop
* start menu thing MUCH better as it doesn't replace entire desktop
* all programs seem to work fine
* network stuff, mapped drives etc all fine
* printers fine

overall very nice and definitely worth the upgrade...

I haven't received the upgrade alert either. I have a MSDN license though so I'm downloading the ISO now. I'll be upgrading shortly...

Would you guys do an upgrade or fresh install? I'm on 8.1 now. I prefer upgrade because I have a lot of tools set up for development.

That happened to me too so I brought up Windows Update and upgrading to 10 was the update available.

Thanks for that. Mine said up to date until I clicked "Check online..." Looks like it's updating now.

I read somewhere that you can't do a clean install right off the bat with the free upgrade. You will have to do the upgrade, then activate, then do a clean install. I'm not sure on the logistics of that as far as your product key goes and all.

Has anyone been downgraded from Pro to Home? I'm doing this on a laptop that's not used much, but I'm almost positive it was 8.1 Pro and now it's 10 Home. Did I do something wrong or am I mistaken about having Pro on the machine?

The upgrade is free for a year.

It's significantly faster. It will be my default browser once extensions become available.

Yes, it’s free. This is a full version of Windows, not a trial or introductory version. It is available for a limited time: you have until July 29, 2016 to take advantage of this offer. Once you upgrade, you’ll have Windows 10 for free on that device.

I'm guessing MS put a bug in it to slow Chrome down

I know I would have.

Exactly what I was thinking last night after I upgraded. I can't use a browser without some form of ad block though. Going to switch whenever that becomes available.
