re: Wifi range options - CubsFanBudMan
What are the specs for your new house (area and layout)? Probably best to get a good recommendation for that house and it should work out where you are now. This is for people more in the know than me. When is the next wifi standard expected to be released? Would it be best for the OP to spend a...

re: Wifi range options - CubsFanBudMan
What's the distance from the front of the house to the back? What wifi router do you have now? What's your budget? Your options are: Replacing the router with something stronger or with a mesh system. Running a cat6 cable to the back of the house or use a powerline adapter and connecting an acce...

re: Cut the cord doesn't work - CubsFanBudMan
(LSU needs to ditch CST completely)
Don't think it's LSU's choice. Aren't all of the CST road games? It's up to the home team to negotiate TV rights. Not sure if the SEC Network can broadcast non-SEC road games....

re: Can Data still be used while on wifi? - CubsFanBudMan
Knowing what kind of phone you have will help with an answer. Iphones are known for using data when you have a weak wifi signal. It's one of those "it just works" features that they don't tell you about....

re: Are WiFi routers universal these days? - CubsFanBudMan
Yes, and I can't remember a time when they weren't.
There was the whole A and B issue back in the day. Now everything is backwards compatible. The only issue now is 2.4ghz vs 5ghz. But there isn't a brand specific wifi router that only works with that same brand card....

re: Is TickBoxTV worth it? - CubsFanBudMan
That looks just like my MXQ Pro box that I paid less than $40 for. It had the same remote, but not the keyboard, which is another $10-15. Email them and ask them what chip is in it, then search that chip on Amazon. Mine is S905. They now have an S905X chip....

re: HSA with 3 kids - CubsFanBudMan
I just switched to an HSA plan last year and it's caused my wife to be more selective about taking our kid to the doctor. Preventative visits have a 0 deductible, so that helps. If you have one person in the family with health issues, but not everyone, then the HSA account can be even better. My pla...
How is it possible for my wife and me to owe taxes when both of our are withholding status are Married and 0 deductions?
Married is the problem. re: Picking the right mesh wifi system - CubsFanBudMan

re: Wiring a 120 year old house with Cat6 - CubsFanBudMan
thank you for clearing that up then. Thought I had read that a while back, but I must have remembered it wrong.
Was it about intranet speeds? I'm 2 years into a 3 year contract that I paid $59.40 for ($1.65 per month). That's a 70% discount. They start you off with a 50% discount, but if you keep leaving the site, they will up the discount. I think you have to register for the site before leaving, but get the 3 year price in your cart, t...
