Seems like a lot of smoke with this one. I know anything could happen, bit I'm going to go ahead and be excited.

shite, I knew I should've waited to buy the yellow pre-match jersey. I was so pumped after the FA Cup when that I bought it immediately.

Is that a diamond 4-4-2? I use that sometimes when playing my roommate in FIFA

That looks closer to the 4-3-1-2 that AC Milan employed during the 2000s. The three deepest midfielders are more interchangeable than they would be in a diamond. Also, I would rather have Giroud start over Walcott to have a physical striker and a speed striker.

I would love the versatility, since Vidal can do it all ... attack, defend, assist.

Now I'm getting nervous about the whole Cech-Vidal transfer thing.

This is all coming from the Brit rumour-mill newspapers.

I hope this is not a jinx.

Did Cech indeed take his physical at the Emirates?

If we sign both Cech and Vidal ... we'd have to be the odds-on favorite to win the league this season, not to mention, a threat to go very deep in the CL.

I could also relax and enjoy the rest of the summer, with two giant signings right off the bat.

Vidal was reported about a month ago. It's going to happen. Bout to be a huge Arsenal fan. They should go after Charles Aranguiz too.

Ha, I was just talking about this being the best tactics for our personnel too (but more the xmas tree variety)

here is a link to how the formation varied during the Ancelotti years

Cech is done, Ornstein and the BBC reported it. Vidal....it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Not saying it isn't true, but I'm very skeptical

Why not? I think it makes perfect sense... What MF couldn't use a skillful, hardman like him? He made his bones as a DM... On any given day, he may be the best all-around player in the world.. A bit of a nutcase, but I'd take my chances, no doubt..

What team couldn't use an absolute world class CF, who's mobile and strong? Who couldn't use a world class CB? Who couldn't use outside backs who can actually break into their national team?

Don't get me wrong, I think Per, Bellerin, Monreal, Giroud, Welbeck are all very good players. But there are spots to upgrade all over the field, and CM is probably the least of them. Unless Arsene thinks he can play instead of Coquelin.

I'm not saying I'm against the transfer, far from it. It just doesn't seem to fit that well with Arsene's MO or what we thought we needed going into the summer. Not to mention it's hard to see Juventus letting Vidal and Pogba go

You still questioning it? I've only been watching soccer truly seriously for a few seasons now but I've watch a ton of arsenal matches as I find them usually very enjoyable. It seems to me, and I could be completely wrong that arsenal lacks any semblance of true toughness when things aren't flowing perfectly for them, not to mention they seem smaller especially in midfield than the other title challengers. 38 matches is a grind and they're not going to win pretty every match. A guy like Vidal will probably give them a significant lift on a rainy midweek match against stoke or someone similar when their attack isn't flowing quite so freely. I think outside of Cech having a tougher minded midfield is the biggest boost possible to their title chances.

I agree, but I wasn't aware its an either or for you guys... At the price thats been thrown around, its a no brainer to me.. And while Coquelin had a fine season, I don't think its a given that he's the future...

You're right that it doesn't make sense from a Juve point of view, if they do indeed plan to sell Pogba, too..
