I would argue intuitively that it reduces (not “prevents”) impact of the brain against the skull.
Right. Helmet not coming to as complete a stop. The time it takes for the cap to deform should help decelerate brain to skull. Or at least that’s what I’d imagine they’re selling. ...
You’re not going to likely have multiple 5th rounders starting. Hopefully we will have 4 guys with consistent playing time. That would be a great start. ...
They would have to likely include future 3 and a couple 5ths to get up into the 3rd
I’d love to know what the 14 downvotes think it’ll take to get into the third  ...
It’s not a pressing need but it may as well be one Demario will be long gone before we’re at contending level again (hopefully) so if you love someone go for it. ...
I could see them packaging a 5th and next years 4th to get into backend of 3rd round.
That value makes no sense. ...
Feel like I first read about this while putting my 2 year old to bed. He’s going into middle school now  ...

If they’re not worried about 2 years of big contract it’s really fine. If you think Penix is a franchise guy you do it 10/10x. ...

We have like 8 fifth rounders. Take 3 of em  ...
It’s the first time that LSU has had two first-round wide receivers.
Pretty sure Bowe and Davis were both first rounders. ETA: so is everyone else. ...
Hate that he's going to that shitty organization but at least he'll be WR1 I guess
 what’s shitty about it? They basically go to the title game every decade and have a young really good qb and a solid offensive coach. Could be A LOT worse. Don’t confuse small market with s...
Valid points. But they couldn’t have found someone else to fill the gap for cheaper? Also, it’s coming out that cousins camp is not happy at all with this.
Yeah I’m not a huge Penix fan. I’m just saying that if I were a gm I wouldn’t let a big short term contract on an aging qb de...

It’s basically a 2 year deal and they can be done with him if it’s not working out and they obviously had the cap space and then some. They’ve invested so much in high first round picks at TE, wr, and running back that they have to get something going with those young guys. They’re taking multiple ...

For sure. I’m not the biggest fan of him. Actually kinda thought that some of his passes hung for awhile when o watched a few of their games. But I’m far from an nfl talent evaluator. I don’t hate the move at all if FO feels like he’s a franchise guy. Likely won’t get another top 8 draft spot with a...
Wouldn’t mind at all if we took a guard. We’re gonna suck anyway may as well build the line for the next coach/qb...

Because I think they likely want to see what they have with all these high first round skill players. Kurt will give you a couple of serviceable+ years to evaluate the young guys. I don’t think there is a saints fan out there that wouldn’t trade rosters right now if they’re being honest. ...

If you think Penix is a franchise qb you 110% take him. It’s the unquestioned right move if you have him ranked highly. Guys tend to do well when they can sit a year or so. Kurt is 35 and coming off a bad injury. ...
