How?

Documentation from those 7 countries is notoriously unreliable for one reason or another. That's a reason they were singled out.

I'm perfectly fine with immigration so long as it's done through the proper channels.

Illegal immigration hurts tax payers and undermines those attempting to become citizens legitimately and legally.

Race, religion or country of origin have no bearing on my approval or disapproval of who enters this country. Only exception being, individuals who are unable to be properly vetted (regardless of the above) to ensure the safety American citizens

No. I do get it.

In fact, I actually hold that very view. I just don't believe that the large majority here really believe in that statement.

It's a cop out, especially if you support banning people with GCs and Visas from ME countries.

Let's be honest, none of you gave a shite about illegal immigrants until it came to your doorstep and became a convenient talking point for the right wing echo chamber.

If illegal immigration is all about costs, jobs, and those folks paying their fair share of taxes, then why is amnesty off the table? Wouldn't it be much cheaper and productive to offer those that are here and working a chance to get their status in order and start paying taxes?

Everyone agrees that the criminals need to be deported, even the sanctuary cities.

I'm not sure Trumps ideas will work without costing us a ton of money.

What part of Christianity says it's helpful to encourage people to leave their birthplace, where they don't want for necessities, to head for our materialistic society? Where in Christianity are we compelled to facilitate economic migration? What if it destabilizes our society? What if it harms our communities?

• I attempt to lead a law abiding life and expect others to do the same
• I think American citizenship is to be respected as are the sacrifices made by those that went through the legal "process" to gain citizenship
• Why should we simply give away citizenship and rights that people fought and died for to be called "American"
• I want illegals to be legal, pay taxes, etc.
• Illegals tend to vote liberal and liberal policies serve to dilute or republic, i.e., economically, socially, etc.

Proper immigration?
Great thing. Honestly I believe it's what makes the Melting Pot that is America grand.

Well they are typically early gentrifiers so I'd say at least half if not more are not only willing but have done so in the past.

Simple. We have enough impoverished Americans that taxpayers have to pay for from cradle to grave. Bringing in millions more is not sustainable. I am all for legal immigration for anyone who can support themselves without having to steal from me to do so.

Go to Mexico and the other countries the illegals are coming from...for the most part they are shite holes. Now go to Houston or any city near the border. They are becoming shite holes too in the Hispanic areas.

If they want to come here legally and adopt our American ways, more power to them.

If they come here illegally and want to drag our society down to the level of shite holeness they came from, then they need to go!

A couple surprising things here. 1. You have friends 2. You have friends you consider more leftist than yourself.

I'm against it because they are a drain on the economy. They bring crime, poverty, and use a lot of Govt entitlements and resources that are already strained.

They are largely unskilled labor and today's technology based economy requires less and less unskilled labor. Flooding the labor market with unskilled labor leads to low wages and high unemployment which equals more govt dependency.

This is true regardless of the race of the immigrant. I'm all for controlled immigration of educated, skilled people or bringing people over in times of labor shortage. This was our immigration policy for much of the countries history. It's not a new concept. It's a terrible idea to bring millions of impoverished 3rd world people here when there isn't room or work to accommodate them.

All that happens is you get a very expensive group of people to take care of who will then vote for more entitlements because they have no good opportunity to work and provide themselves. Then we eventually run out of money
