This would be completely retarded.
quote:

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he was leaning toward a 15-week national ban on abortion but supports exceptions for rape, incest and saving the life of the mother because "you have to win elections."

Abortion promises to be a galvanizing issue for some women voters in the 2024 presidential election in which Trump will try to unseat Democratic President Joe Biden.

The former Republican president, whose three right-wing appointees to the U.S. Supreme Court secured the majority needed to overturn Roe v. Wade in 2022, has not been specific on whether he would sign a national ban into law.

In a call-in radio interview on Tuesday, he came close.

"The number of weeks now, people are agreeing on 15. And I'm thinking in terms of that. And it’ll come out to something that’s very reasonable. But people are really, even hard-liners are agreeing, seems to be, 15 weeks seems to be a number that people are agreeing at," Trump said on the "Sid & Friends in the Morning" show on WABC.

He said he would make an announcement at the appropriate time.

This is how you totally lose white women in an election.

It's a losing strategy but Republicans can't seem to learn. I'm against abortion but in the political world, the Supreme Court already said this was NOT a federal matter.

How so? You think pro-life women are going to vote for someone else, who is more than likely pro-abortion?

It’s like they didn’t pay attention at all to the last midterms.

He's saying he'll lose semi-pro-choice women who lean R, I think

I think the point is, the hysteria over men taking away the right to kill babies had died down a bit as states settled the matter. I said to SFP a few weeks ago on here that it shouldn't be a big issue in elections going forward. All Trump had to do was say, the Supreme Court has spoken, it's up to the states. But, he can't help himself.

100% this.

He can have it both ways if he likes. It's so simple.

"I reversed Roe vs Wade which was the holy Grail of the prolife movement. We put the fight in the states where it belongs. I'm prolife and proud to live in a pro life state. The federal government has no business intervening in this issue."

Win win.

Running on a 15 week abortion ban that will NEVER get approved in Congress anyway is falling for a Democrat trap.

Yes I think you’re right. I believe I read this entire thing wrong, and was thinking pro-lifers want the cutoff to be less than 15 weeks or something.
