No full repeal, just a repeal of certain amendments, then work on a bill in conference. Clownshow.

You just weren't listening carefully. It was REPEAL AND REPLACE two very specific parts of OBAMACARE
Posted on 7/25/17 at 9:22 am to The Spleen
Sounds, sh&tty, half-baked, unworkable, and unlikely to pass. Well done, GOPe. Mission Accomplished

Meh. Repealing key parts of it is all we want right now.

If they end up passing a bill without the Cruz/Lee amendment AND without some kind of mandate-ish incentive for people to sign up this will basically make Obamacare worse but allow Democrats to call it Trumpcare.

Yup. Trying to fix Frankenstein after he's left the castle is not going to work.

Repealing it like they promised is what we want right now.

Yep.
Also looks like a surrender by the Senate to kick it back to the House to find a solution. Which is what the House initially did expecting the Senate to find a workable solution.

Why is it a "clownshow?" Is it because the Republicans actual are diverse in thought on this topic and unwilling to be bought off unlike democrats?

Trump's base will declare victory after the MTP.

Because after 7 years of constant bellyaching about ACA, they never took the time to form a consensus on what actual repeal and replace would center on, nor how it would actually work. Now they're scrambling to deliver on a promise built on lies and misinformation, and can't get on the same page.
And they're doing most of it behind closed doors with little to no debate, and without public input.

The Marxists have apparently wrapped Medicare around this thing so it's much more difficult to tear it down. Why not first completely separate Medicare from the ACA, and halt current efforts to expand Medicare, then proceed with the demolition of the ACA?

Honestly, they probably never thought they'd get the executive branch in 2016 so they didn't bother with a consensus plan. It looked bleak.
Behind closed doors? You should be in favor of that since that's how Obamacare came about.

Strange that they weren't "diverse in thought" when they sent repeal bills to Obama's desk or when they campaigned on repeal/replace immediately.
Now that they're playing with live ammo, they can't muster up the courage to pass something....

I'm sorry that your Republican leaders have been lying to you for the past 7 years. It can be a tough pill to swallow.

The problem with y'all repeal zealots is that you cannot conceptualize what you create by flat repeal. It's just a game with no consequences.

Correct, if they were serious these clowns should have had a bill ready to show Trump on day 1 "Mr President if we pass this repeal and replace bill will you sign it?" then held a vote.
What a joke these GOP Congressman are , Democrats too but for this thread, GOP.

You think this is some sort of gotcha.
Hint: most of us with a brain realize the GOP really doesn't want to repeal it because they are greased by the same lobbyists that got it passed in the first place.
The left keeps playing it as a "you" against "us" game when it's really a "them" against " all of us" game.
If only we could get past this make we could hold ALL these worthless mfers accountable.

I've lost all hope concerning the issue of healthcare. It's no longer a fight of whether or not the federal government will be involved in healthcare the biggest fight is whether a D or R gets to manage it.
Sad.
