Very simple solution here that will save the taxpayers way more than $1b....

Well, I prefer to deal in things that can actually happen.

Prescribing someone on medicaid or medicare into pill dependency is fraud imo.
Sometimes a prescription is warranted and ethical, and a person becomes dependent anyways. Is that fraud?

Evidently not as you want to fix the problem by arresting people.

I'm sure there is a lot that's hard for you to imagine.

Medicare is a fraud and the result of theft by government. Forgive me if IDGAF about someone stroking scripts against it. That is, however, a separate issue. This was a drug crackdown. Not a "fraud" crackdown.

Well this is the kind of self-defeating mentality that results in the government doubling down on ineffective and harmful policies.

That's not what is happening.

The purpose of antibiotics should shift to saving lives rather than making someone that is otherwise healthy feel better faster. The long term ramnifications of the broad over use antibiotics far outweigh your isolated concerns.

The purpose of antibiotics is exactly what the name implies. But, I'm glad you are here to tell me how to configure my own resources.

Anything else you think I should be using differently?

Nonsense. It's the type of mentality that actually gets things done instead of waiting for the fairytale dream of people electing politicians who get rid of medicaid and medicare. Sure, that would be amazing, but it just isn't going to happen.

Antibiotics are about the only thing that should be regulated as your misuse kills the world and not just you

My bad, I misread the post you replied to and thought he blamed the government crackdown.

The solution to the opioid problem is rescheduling or legalizing weed.

That's not the problem, is what I mean. The problem is doctors feeding or creating that dependancy when they know better.

So, because of the misuse by some, we are now all supposed to suffer. Sounds like the dumbing down of school curricula because some are unable to keep up with them.

The same argument could be made against pain patients. Doctors could even use this against patients that become addicted, they could just say they were bad patients.

But I agree, Drs. who just prescribe for profit are a problem. I also don't like the Feds and DEA breathing down Drs. throats, it really affects individual care, like your example about antibiotics with you and your family.

So you think every person who became dependent on those prescriptions was a result of physician incompetence or malfeasance? Do you have any evidence to support your stance?

This is bound to be at least as successful as the other "War on Drugs" initiatives.

Only if you think drug dealers and doctors have an equal amount to lose.

So you think more government is going to fix the problem of too much government, despite the entirety of history that shows otherwise?

As it pertains to the War On Drugs, Sessions represents positions that are ineffective, costly, and harmful. Worse yet, he's made some disturbingly ignorant statements (marijuana only a little less terrible than heroin), that indicates a worldview that rejects evidence and logic.
