So, does this mean that the only morally correct decision is to kill it?

How strange.

I highlighted two words in your statement that you apparently don't know the meaning of.

Corrected may be the better word. It is a civil discussion and I apologize for using attacked

Yea I thought that was a particularly weak point. I can kill people everyday without them suffering a lick, does that make it morally acceptable?

Yea he usually has better logic than that.

I hear ya.

It's truly sad when people pre-judge how someone's life will turn out.

This.

And if there is no God then what moral authority is he appealing to when he calls something immoral? Atheism is so ridiculous.

Sound like he would have felt right at home living in Nazi Germany. I'm sure Himmler, Goebbels, and himself would have been BFF's.

Sympathy is just another symptom of backward thinking southern stump jumpers. I can sum up your deficiency in one short sentence: You do not have the courage to accept the pronouncements of your betters. Hey, these guys with all the degrees are way smart. You're an idiot if you don't listen to them.

It makes me sad that choosing to end a life because the life may not be what WE would want is a debatable topic, but that's where we are in today's secular thinking.

After rereading your posts I was able to detect the sarcasm...carry on...we agree, not in style, but in substance

So your contention is that if an atheist disagrees with Dawkins on this point then said atheist is not, in actuality, an atheist? Is that correct?

As I said, on the whole I think I disagree with Dawkins here. But I also tend to not see every issue in the world in a binary light. And abortion is one of the issues I personally struggle most with, because I see positive and negative points on both sides.

But if Dawkins' personal belief is that fetuses aren't viable life forms, then his contention that it's more moral to abort makes sense; he feels that he's maximizing utility (in a moral sense) by doing so.

Granted, if you are not of this opinion, and instead hold that life is viable at the instant of inception (or earlier or whatever), you'd find the views potentially abhorrent, as many here obviously do.

I hope this is something being taken out of context because that's a really fricking stupid thing to say.
