So, it's still too early to tell, butit seems to me that he is who I thought he was, and you let him off the hook. You could have listened, you could have lived...

Good move by Trump.

Will the Trumpsters hold him accountable for anything he says/does, or does he have complete carte blanche for the next 4 years?

Some will hold him accountable, some will be happy with whatever he does. Same as any base.

He can say whatever he wants. FBI is moving with Clinton foundation and the president can't tell them what to do. They are independent.

I couldn't agree more.

Just because he's not ordering someone to pursue it doesn't mean he's telling them they can't or impeding them if they do.

I think this is a smart move, as I have said on this forum before. He doesn't need to make this a focus and get caught up in the surrounding political firestorm of it.

Now, if the Justice Department, FBI, etc. see some need to further investigate it, they should be able to do so, and I doubt Trump would interfere with that.

Her health is likely as bad as it was said to be behind the scenes. I think this is a move to not add insult to injury and show some mercy on his part personally. It's a solid PR move.

He's already eviscerated her, her husband, her foundation, her political future, and her legacy. Whatever pitiable scraps left to destroy are second to MAGA'ing.

What would you have "the Trumpsters" do with this news?

All he is saying he won't pursue. This doesn't mean the FBI won't prosecute. Remember Jeff Sessions will be in charge.

When the MSNBC political pundits say anything about what will happen regarding Trump, they are usually wrong.

I have always taken the opinion that Trump should have ZERO input whatsoever into whether his DOJ chose to look into Clinton's doings. With respect to the SOS emails, I think that is already salted Earth. But I really think it would be worthwhile to pursue an inquiry into the Clinton Foundation to determine how extensive the pay-to-play scheme was, and how it may have affected foreign policy endeavors. If it is as bad as some think, she should be prosecuted to the fullest extent possible.

All the pressure is on Obama now, why would she need a pardon?

Smoke and mirrors.

If Trump says he's going to instruct his DOJ to pursue the Clinton case, there's a chance Obama could issue a Nixon-like pardon to Clinton just before he leaves office. But if Trump gives off the impression that he's dropping the Clinton investigation, then there wouldn't be a reason for Obama to pardon her before he leaves office...then once Trump is sworn in, he can announce new evidence came to light and the investigation is re-opened and Obama won't be in office anymore to get her off the hook.
