The poor don't have it "easy," but there really are no poor in America in comparison to the rest of the world.

They live pretty well.

They have decent homes, they all have cable TV, they virtually all have flat panel TVs, many computers with internet access, they pretty much all have cell phones. They have plenty of food. Many have cars.

They have a really decent life style with a lot of luxuries. Plus, they don't have to work to pay for all of it, which is a plus.
How is the crime in these communities? Schools?

A lot of owners / managers of section 8 housing are the biggest slumlords.

Our poor have iPhones, a roof over their heads with a trailer or section 8 and a car to drive. The quality of those doesn't matter. They do have it easy compared to the rest of the world. It's not up for debate.

The poor in America have free housing, free food, free cash, get more back in the form of tax credit than they pay, and have enough cash left over for the newest iPhone, 55 inch tv, and some rent-to-own rims on their used Cadillac. Yeah, they have it easy.

Some poor people live in their cars or under highway underpasses. Not all poor people have cell phones. Most don't have cars. Have you ever been to an emergency room in a city for a serious but not critical injury? How many grocery stores do poor people have access to?

Lot of generalization there. Some may have those, all don't. But I agree with you that I'd rather be poor here than many places in the world. Though Denmark and Sweden would probably be better.

why is it my responsibility that they frick up their neighborhoods and school systems?

a very, very small % of the total population

and even then, that's our "poorest". compare that to the poorest in brazil...or china...or...sub saharan africa

is this really the standard for poor people? do you realize how ridiculous this sounds in the objective?

Yea SFP that really proves that all the poor have all those things (55" LCD). If anything what you posted shows that of the things mentioned in the post some may have those but all do not.

We "rent" homes to them, we don't give them TV's or cell phones, everyone gets a public education (although poor communities get it in far sub-standard conditions). Most poor people are not responsible for the crime in the communities that are their only choice to live in.

Property owners shouldn't pay for infrastructure? I thought that people were only upset at income taxes?
