re: Amazon and Jeff Bezos murdered those people at the warehouse hit by tornado.

I literally have designed and built the break room restrooms as storm shelters. Built 2 warehouse in south LA.
The steel insulated panels designed for coolers are rated at like 180-200 mph, they discovered that after Andrew.

Stupid logic is stupid.
Heat in the summer and cold in the winter are acts of nature. Expecting the building owner to mitigate those effects by installing heat and ac isn't making the owner responsible for acts of nature, it's making the owner responsible for the well-being of their workers, when they are at the factory.
While I have empathy for the workers who lost their lives in this storm, they chose to work there. I just don't agree that it is some outlandish expectation from a guy that couldn't store all his money in a shelter large enough to make his employees at that factory safe, even if it was in $100 bills.

Do they have public storm shelters in the area ?
I seen one recently in a very small town in Mississippi and don't know how common this is.
If they wouldn't let them have phones someone there should of been monitoring the storm and told everyone once the storm was 1 hour away to find shelter. Whether they stayed or left they had the option for their own decision.

You have no idea a tornado is one hour away. None at all.
You have 30 min tops for a reasonable prediction and at that point you don't want people traversing across a large warehouse and getting in a car going somewhere.
You need to shelter in place. Sometimes despite best efforts, toe storm overpowers the shelter.
Maybe this area needs stronger shelters... but that will apply to everyone.

Well, I wouldn't be shrugging my shoulders and saying "dems da breaks", while sitting on a mountain of money, so I'll go ahead and be wrong. I'm good with it.

Luckily you live in the US where you can go make that molehill you have into that mountain you want and start saving people.

Where shite is gonna get interesting is that managers wouldn't let staff leave right before the storm hit. Apparently they didn't want staff to leave(those who were off the clock during shift change) because weather was getting bad.
One of those workers who texted family saying they wont let us leave died. From the time they said they could not leave, to when the tornado touched down was 20 minutes.

Yep, they had recent tornados so wanted storm rated rooms.
I sheltered in the facility basement while that laplace storm hit a few years back. Easily could have hit us.
Filled reinforced Cinder block walls, poured deck floor above with some additional reinforcement.

I know people who died in the 98 f5 and the 2011 f5 that were in their basements. Some were sucked out with the house and others were crushed with all the shite the blew in after the house was blown away. Basements are better than nothing but unreliable.
