And...nothing that supports your opinion follows.

CJJ is an excellent recruiter, he is a crappy coach.

From March 2012 to March 2015, the program is only slightly better. Our win-loss record supports my statement.

Show me where anyone even remotely suggested anything close to that. The OP wasn't even about JJ being great, just that he has the program moving forward.

Way to back up your statements with facts, dumbass.

The last three years:

2011-12 18-15 NIT first round loss
2014-15 22-11 NCAA first round choke job

WOW!!!! Big difference in wins over the last three years!! Let's build the man a statue!!!
Popular to media portrayal, suicide in an option for some.

That said, LSU has 20 more wins in CJJ's 1st 3 seasons than Trent's final 3 seasons including 19 more SEC wins. Losing in the NIT compared to losing in the NCAA is night and day. I have a hard time envisioning you being able to walk upright.

We are not talking about Trent, we are talking about what CJJ has done over the last three years. Three seasons removed from an 18-15 record, CJJ posted a 22-11 record, a whopping FOUR win improvement. Is that better? Okay fine. It's better by four wins. So I think we can both agree that there is a "slight" improvement from March 2012 to March 2015.

Also, I wasn't calling you a dumbass, I was calling Tigerbait2008 a dumbass.

for one, the conference is much better than it was when trent johnson was here. then you talk about building depth, increasing attendance, getting more wins against good teams, etc and it's impossible to not notice how far the program has come

1. LSU basketball is exciting and worth watching again.

2. We have the number 1 recruiting class.

3. Coach has made great hires.

4. We have gotten clearly better throughout his tenure.

5. He's a great representative of the university.

I've questioned jones through his career but the overall work he has done is amazing. When putting it in perspective, It is much better than people realize. We aren't a perennial power team in basketball. We have some good history and aren't in the top conference. Johnny is wrecking shop.

Realize who you are arguing and understand it is a huge compliment to you and everyone else he's on the opposite end.

LSU basketball is exciting? Did you see the Tennessee game? The two A&M games? The choke jobs against Auburn in the SECT and NC State in the NCAAT?

Doesn't mean shite yet. CJJ had Mickey and Martin on the same court this season and 0 Postseason wins to show for it.

3. Coach has made great hires.

Who cares.

A four win improvement. I think you mean "slightly" better.

That's true, but he's a horrible coach. We could have hired better in 2012.

If Jones is as bad as you say he is, then you should care who he hires. You can't be this stupid.

the choke was by the same player you claim to be good (mickey). Coach cannot shot the FT for him.

Obviously you want to surround yourself with good assistants, but these are no-name hires that will probably be irrelevant in three years. Sound familiar?

What are you arguing then?

If CJJ isn't compared in the scope of previous LSU coaches, then how is he compared?

It's not fair to say "he sucks, I'm done" without some type of comparative value. I don't understand how 20 extra wins and 19 extra SEC wins in 3 seasons doesn't resonate with some.

It's beyond ignorant IMO to only dwell on the flaws and not give the man some credit as well. It's a big picture mentality that escapes many.

LSU basketball and football are different beasts. LSU's football program is a juggernaut of potential. LSU's basketball program has always been on shaky ground. Top coaches aren't kicking in LSU's door to come coach basketball here. Why shite on a coach in his 3rd year that has had the most success for 3 years into a tenure at LSU? I don't get it.

Maybe he is capabale of growing as a coach and being the man. Maybe he is just capable of making LSU relevant laying the groundwork. How you judge that after 3 seasons is a wonder to me.

Who the hell you're going to hire to replace him when he just made the NCAAT and is bringing in top recruiting classes?

I'll bet any amount of money that he doesn't even like basketball. He just likes to complain about the coach because to some people on here it's the cool thing to do.

Jones has a lot of good qualities. He cares, he can recruit and the players seem to like him.

Compare it to Trent Johnson, who just did not give a crap. Johnson could have sent this program back a lot further then most people realize.

Jones has revitalized the interest in basketball at LSU. He deserves credit for that.
