Well we should go and snatch Greg Popavich from the Spurs and give him a staff of Coach K, Larry Brown, Coach Cal, and Jim Boeheim because we need coaches with a name. Amirite?

You're a fricking moron.

Instead of having a decent debate with someone, you start accusing people that they are an alter.

Holy shite.

That's it. Done with you.

You have 200 posts and this what you spend your time on? Just proving your lack of knowledge? Stop posting (or trolling).

Did the NC State game show you anything about this man? How the frick do you blow a game like that? LSU didn't score a single point in the last ten minutes of the game. If I were the AD, I would have fired him the next day.
This is an indication that you, yourself, will never be relevant in life.

It's a horribly short-sighted and mistaken view of job performance and life in general.

It's a shame you and I cannot have a decent debate.

Also, why would you defend a guy that lost to horrible teams and choked away the only two postseason games he coached in?

If you were a true LSU Basketball fan, you would want what's best for the program, and it's very obvious Johnny Jones isn't it. Great man, great recruiter, horrible coach.

If recruiting big name players and underachieving on the court is what you love, CJJ is your man.

No one on this board is capable or qualified to give a coach of a major D1 program "legitamite criticism".

Emphasis on "legitamite".

My only complaint with the man is he's clueless where timeouts are concerned and hasnt given his teams any real sense of offensive identity. Both these areas can be improved and he is a great ambassador for LSU. In terms of recruiting, he's among the best in the country.

Look at the names of the coaches that have won national championships and ask yourself how does JJ compare to these coaches...many fans see a ceiling with JJ...in todays college game you have to have above average coaching abilities to go along with talent to win championship. ..long standing LSU basketball fans see JJ as Dale Brown 2.0...no doubt JJ will bring in talent and win many games may even go to a final 4 but will he win it all ? Personally I don't think he will

No, the team has not gotten better over the last three years.

Stick to mock schedules

Trent left us in blackhole recruiting wise and we were a shite program. We've improved every year and made the NCAAT. That is meeting and exceeding expectations when he was hired.

Now we have the #1 recruiting class in the country coming in to build on that. LSU is becoming a bigger name, but yea, he deserves to be fired.

Not comparing, but just some history for you. I'll let you figure out who, what, when.

3 years prior to new coach:
27–7 8–4 2nd NCAA Finalist
22–8 9–3 T-1st NCAA Round of 32
24–9 7–7 T-5th NCAA Elite Eight

3 years with new coach:
7–13 6–8 T-5th NIT
10–17 4–10 T-6th —
11–17 3–11 7th —

I assume new coach should be fired, given the criteria stated in this thread (and others).

Further hints, new coach's record at previous job:
11–14
20–8
19–9 NIT First Round
14–11
9–17

New coach should easily be fired at both his former and new job, right?!?

Go ahead I'm listening.

List of NC coaches since 2000:
K (4 years to make NCAAT at Duke)
Ollie (Ineligible; Champs; NIT 1st round; took over from Calhoun)
Pitino (3 years to make NCAAT at UK)
Cal (3 years to make NCAAT at UMass; 3 years for Memphis)
Calhoun (4 years to make NCAAT at UConn)
Roy
Self
Donovan (3 years to make NCAAT at UF)
Boeheim
G.Williams (4 years to make NCAAT at Maryland)
Izzo (3 years to make NCAAT at MIST)

Besides some cheating, that's a list of HoF coaches. And you expect CJJ to better it.

Would be great for LSU to make the tourney for 12/15 years with 10 straight trips including 2 final 4's, 2 elite 8's, a sweet 16, and 4 SEC titles

You have to walk before you can run. So i hope you're right and we get the best coach in LSU bball history 2.0

If 2014-2015 season was the start of a 15 year run of 80% NCAAT, multiple Final Fours, multiple Elite Eights, multiple Sweet 16s, with the chance to not replicate Dale but maybe one year is all works out, who wouldn't take it? Oh I know. These guys. They would have championed their idiocy to fire at least half of the HoF coaches I mentioned above.

I love when people throw around "Dale Brown 2.0" like it's an insult.
