I'm sure the connoisseurs will let us both know how mediocre community is

I don't drink coffee anymore. Last I had was Irish coffee in San Francisco about 3 years ago.

Drink what you like. Probably my favorite coffee of all time was Community Private Reserve Evangeline roast. I'm a whole bean, French press snob though.

Maxwell House master blend is the everyday. I also keep Lusianne chickory for a different pot. I also like Chock Full of Nuts coffee as a change of pace.

Same. But I'm no coffee bean connoisseur.

Out of curiosity for our world travellers how does community rank up there with other regional coffee brands?

Bunch of Terrible coffee in this thread

Most of the coffee in Fresh Market is good, particularly the single orgin beans from Nicaragua. But, a friend of mine who is a PHD student from Honduras hooks me up direct with beans from his family's farm, roasted by his brother

Pretty terrible.
Most major cities have a local coffee roaster that is 1000x better. If Northwest... well, I won't even bother. You like CC.

Ehh..let them. Community brings me back, I enjoy the nostalgic scent of CC's. It's one of those things, where the sense of scent can bring you back to a place of childhood.

I could be considered a connoisseur of many things, but those who use such things to give themself a sense or boost of pride are ridiculously pathetic.

Well I grew up in my coffee drinking days on CC and now I do enjoy the hell out of it but just have no real knowledge of other products.

We have a decent variety of small roasters turning out quality stuff. No need to be stuck on preground mass market Community. Orleans Coffee Italia espresso roast is my house coffee.

For a board that supposedly has good taste, there is a lot of shitty coffee being hyped on here. As far as community goes, they use some pretty cheap beans. It's like the people who get on here and pump SAM's "quality" steaks. Just because you grew up eating/drinking cheap stuff, doesn't mean it's worth a shite.

People like things for different reasons. I've had great coffee in life, foods, liquors etc.

But the reason I choose CC's is not based on what you feel may be inferior ingredients.

I'm not asking for anyone's opinion, bullshite debate or anything else. Just a simple question of what YOUR go to is.

Can the coffee critics on here suggest some of your favorite roasters??

I have been in the market for awhile now.....I usually do whole bean in the morning, and just go with CC, which is just ok......In the afternoons, I usually do a little Cafe Bustela in an old school Espresso maker, and it blows the CC out of the water obviously.

Any whole bean Roaster suggestions I should check out??? I prefer a medium-dark roast....
