Video links to the owner's facebook account. I do not know her, but I figured it was worth sharing. Lady asks for refund, then to speak to manager, BK worker begins to curse at Lady. Then BK worker has enough, comes out from behind the counter and gets in Lady's face, supposedly stepping on her foot in the process. Kind of sad that people who are on the clock, regardless of how menial the labor they're providing is, act like this.

No excuse for the employee acting like that, but it's frickin Burger King and she's asking for a refund on a shake. Just don't patronize them again, but no need to make a big deal for two bucks.

I'm shocked by the demographics involved.

I agree. Seems as if something happened before to prompt her to start videoing, so who knows what actually went down first? But say the milk was sour or there was actually some dirt/grime/debris from an uncleaned machine, I understand asking for it on principle. And I don't know what happened before the video, but she didn't make THAT big an ordeal of it or become irate herself. She probably could've handled it better, but I'm not so certain that I could say that she handled it poorly.

How is asking for a refund patronizing?

I meant don't go there again. I didn't think of the other meaning when I wrote that.

Fair point. My mother would do stuff like that and I'd just cringe. Just my non-confrontational nature.

Usually I lead with something like "look, I'm not asking for a refund or any sort of compensation/replacement, but you should know that something is wrong with your machine so that someone else doesn't come along and make a big deal about it." I think that feedback on correctable quality control problems in retail (in particular) is a valuable thing and should be provided without compensation.

But heck, when it comes to hating asking for refunds and the like, I was at a La Madeleine's the other day and the guy dropped half my sandwich on the ground. I told him not to worry about it and that it was fine even though he offered to take it back and make another. I'm a pretty big pussy when it comes to that sort of thing.

Agree. Fair reaction for a person so horribly underpaid. If she had a real living wage Im sure she would be a model employee.

Why in the world would a BK employee deserve $15 an hour? That's management level pay for FF and retail, not a hand out for people who feel falsely entitled to make money they haven't earned. Minimum wage should be 9/10 an hour, but let's not go overboard here.
