re: A shift?....Bernie Sanders gaining rapidly on Hillary Clinton in Iowa - FT
Bill was great. Hillary isn't, and she can never be. Bill Clinton is maybe the best politician we've seen; he's the definition of smooth and still somehow relatable and common. He doesn't want to live in the White House for 8 more years, or even 4. He'll make sure he doesn't have to, and Biden will ...

re: A shift?....Bernie Sanders gaining rapidly on Hillary Clinton in Iowa - FT
As a Democrat, I support Jim Webb. In a big way. He's an actual leader. He's actual presidential material. He's genuine, honest and sincere in his views. But he's not good in front of a camera or with a crowd, so he'll lose. I say that to say that I'm pretty interested in Bernie Sanders as a cand...

I know the authors well. It wouldn't surprise me if they'd written Op-Eds or the like that just haven't been published. Plus they're getting up there in age and may not be particularly interested in getting involved in another big fight....

re: Canada court rules gay sex trumps private school's religious liberty - FT
Sometimes colleges make stupid rules. If they're stupid rules at a private school, people can generally choose not to attend. But if that school wants the government to recognize them as "accredited", I have no problem with the government saying no. If an institution of higher learning doesn't get t...

re: transitioning from boy to girl at age 3 - FT
The state should stay out of family matters. ETA: Parents know what's best for their children. We don't need government intervention to tell us how to raise our kids. ETA 2: This post was super tongue in cheek, btw....

re: Likeability the most important factor in general elections now? Good for Rubio. - FT
Exactly. Likeability wins elections now. Rubio is the most likeable Republican in the field. Biden would be for the Democrats, and he's likely to run but not certain. Rubio would beat every Democrat based on likeability alone, unless he faced Biden, and as I said, that would become an issues race...

re: Stone Mountain, Georgia......... - FT
As I've said before, I could see Stone Mountain from my office in Atlanta. It was sort of a highlight of my morning. A great thing to show up at work and look at. It's a beautiful natural structure with an amazing piece of art carved into it. And no one carved on it fought to destroy Atlanta. I'm...

re: CNN blaming "gun culture" for problems in Chicago over the weekend. - FT
The phrase "gun culture" stunned me. They used it several times. When I think gun culture, I think of collectors, hunters and the like. IMO, if you're in the gun culture, you never fire your gun sideways....

It's a culture problem alright, but can I suggest that it's gang culture that's actually at issue?...
