Them signing IT still kind of baffled me a bit.

We got shite on for having 3 guards but they didnt catch as much.

I also heard dragic isnt too happy about being off ball.

We had 3 guards making $10, $11, and $15. Our problem wasn't player redundancy as much as salary redundancy. They got IT for a good price, $7 declining to $6, and Dragic is still only making $7.5, at least for a few more months.

A player the Magic are willing to deal for mininmal return, I'm told, is forward Moe Harkless, whose minutes have dropped each season w/ORL.

Defining a "minimal return" is an interesting dilemma. Could the Pelicans snag Harkless for John Salmons (and his expiring contract) and that second round pick from Memphis? That seems an awfully low price, but Dell Demps should ask, right?

I'm still not sold on Harkless, especially if lack of motor is why he allegedly fell out of the rotation in Orlando. I'd rather keep Cunningham for less money.

If it only costs Salmons and a 2nd, why not? Especially if you think Cunningham will bolt for greener pastures. Harkless has some serious questions, but he's worth a flyer at that price.

Fisher does make a good point about Harkless likely not breaking into the rotation though. #Monty

That is the question. I think you can keep him for the BAE or the RLE. But yes, if you think retaining Cunningham doesn't fit with your other moves AND you don't plan to go under the cap (Harkless' hold will be about 3 times bigger than Cunningham's), then he is worth a late 2nd rounder.

I'm going to admit and say unless we're getting back a solid SG/SF (Afflalo, Batum, Butler, Matthews), I don't want to lose Gordon

Can't have it both ways with Gordon

Want to trade him when he sucks
Want to keep him when he's good

Trade him now if he has ANY value whatsoever

The Pistons are looking into Joe Johnson for Jennings + expirings. Gordon is a better player, 7 years younger, and $9m cheaper next season. Gordon for Monroe, Joel Anthony, and Datome (all expiring) works and makes more sense for both teams (though it does make us worse this year).

First, Gordon is not better than Joe Johnson. Has never been and never will be. Sorry. Second, Johnson is 4 inches taller and can play 3 positions. Especially SF, where the Pistons have a big need. Lastly, your trade just doesn't work, need wise or financially. They can trade Jennings cause he is out for the year with an injury, plus he makes over 8M a year. Why would they trade away their best player in Monroe when they can make the playoffs with Johnson, Drummond and Monroe?

Yes he is.

And he's terrible at every one of them. If they're looking for a pure 3 and not a two, then Gordon doesn't make sense, but Johnson is a bad player right now. I figured that they're looking for a 3 point threat. Detroit is 19th in 3pt% and have dropping without Jennings. Singler is the only good deep shooter that they have.

All indications are that Monroe is pissed and is going to leave this offseason.

Before I really start getting into this, do you really believe that? I know he is horribly overpaid and it's a bad contract. But you think that Joe Johnson is a bad player? Or, even worse, that Eric Gordon is better?

• The Wizards are looking for a play-making guard to join Andre Miller on the second unit, league sources say. But Washington is more likely to scour the buyout and overseas markets to fill that role rather than give up an asset to get one in a trade. The Pelicans, similarly, are in the market for a backup point guard.

Been trying to think of ways the Pels could get Randy Foye from Denver. Gonna have to be a QPon type buy.

He's not great, but he's also not Jimmer.

For some reason, no matter how much sense it makes, it seems sort of strange that we keep talking about acquiring more guards on this team.

After informing the Phoenix Suns that Goran Dragic won't re-sign an extension this summer, agent Bill Duffy delivered the Phoenix Suns a list of preferred trade destinations that includes the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks and Miami Heat, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

The Indiana Pacers have maintained a consistent interest with Dragic, and their need for a point guard – and ability to be a contender with the return of Paul George – makes them a destination Dragic could possibly OK, league sources said.

...The Houston Rockets have interest in reacquiring him, but Dragic has privately indicated his fear of Houston trading him in the years after signing him to a deal makes him uneasy about a deal there.

So he's demanding a trade to teams with no assets and Phoenix has no choice but to find the best deal or he walks for nothing

I really don't understand why he wants to go to New York, the Lakers, or the Heat. The Heat make the most sense because they are in the East and have some talent on their roster, but the Knicks and Lakers are dumpster fires.

To be one of the top players in one of the top markets. A lot of these foreign players come seeking global success, people back home will probably hear more about him doing well on a bad Knicks team than everything he's done in Phoenix.

I guess I can see that, is that speculation or a legit reason from Dragic?

I think I'd want to go to a team that either A.) is going to win or B.) is going to pay me the most money (the salary cap limits this and basically puts most teams on the same playing field)

I don't fault him for wanting out of Phoenix, with their makeup I don't see them doing much more than a first round exit in the playoffs, if they even make it.

Total speculation. Probably the real reason is his agents told him they could get him his own State Farm commercial if he were in a glamor market.
