Keep this updated with news from REPUTABLE sources:

Pels in the market for an SF:

quote:

The Pelicans will look for a small forward, but they’re not trading Ryan Anderson for some run-of-the-mill wing player — especially with Quincy Pondexter giving them solid minutes. The Clips and Heat will try to turn nothing into something. The Hawks have freaking $4.9 million in cap room, which seems unfair. They could sign a free agent or absorb extra salary in a lopsided trade. -Grantland

Denver having a fire sale:

quote:

The more interesting questions surround Ty Lawson and Kenneth Faried. Denver isn’t shopping those guys, but Jusuf Nurkic is the only true untouchable on the roster, per several league sources who have dealt with the Nuggets. The sense around the league is that you could land Lawson or Faried with a Godfather offer. They are gettable. Boston and Denver have had exploratory talks about Lawson, per several sources. Grantland

TOR on the move?

quote:

Alex Kennedy: I can confirm @Zach Lowe's report that TOR has pursued David West and that they've considered moving Terrence Ross (for the right offer). Twitter @AlexKennedyNBA

Another year, another thread where I get my hopes up that we finally get a competent SF, and more disappointment

I'd be surprised if the Pelicans did anything significant. Even taking on a minimal player as a facilitator seems unlikely to me.

I love me some Pels....but the draft and the trade deadline are the best parts of the NBA season (aside from playoffs) and this franchise rarely does shite at either.

Same here.

That being said, I fricking love the NBA trade deadline. It's like Christmas morning in the form of Twitter refreshes and swirling rumors.

Toronto is looking for a PF and are shopping Ross(and even val)

Would any of you like him? He's a rock solid 3 point shooter and his defense has become better and better.

Just a thought.

Yeah, I think we all have the right attitude this year. Do not expect anything, because it is not going to happen.

Personally, I think Loomis is directing them not to make any major, major moves. He wants to see if this team will do anything. If they don't, Dell and Monty are gone and the next guy can make the moves.

I think you're right about this for sure

Tonight, an executive told me Thunder and Nets are most aggressive teams in trade talks. They want to deal, and may trade with each other.

Kennedy isn't the most reputable, but this doesn't seem that hard to believe. At least not any harder to believe than the first time it came around. I still don't see the fit of Lopez for OKC.

I could see us dumping Ajinca, Withey or Salmons for a wing.

If they ended up with a front court rotation of Lopez, Ibaka, and Admas that would seem legit.

Perkins is absolutely terrible when on the floor.

I just don't see the point of bringing in someone to take shots away from KD/Westbrook. Perkins takes 3.6 shots per game, Lopez takes 12.7.

Brooke Lopez to OKC would make me a very happy person.

Yeah I agree

They need a bruiser that can be half decent offensively. Brook really isn't the type of guy they need.

Can someone tell me if this is happening? I am not sure if this is trustworthy or not....

I understand it says trade rumor. Just curious. Is this a good trade doesn't seem like it but I do not know

That website is arse and the trade under "Pelicans trade rumors" doesn't even involve the Pelicans. Probably legit, though.

I haven't even seen rumors resembling that anywhere and that seems detailed enough that if true it would be about to happen, so I'm gonna say not legit.

That's a fan site to put out dumb trade ideas.

Not legit at all

ETA:I mean hell look at this shite:

quote:

08 Feb 2015 02:48:07
pelicans: Thad young, julius randle, 1st round pick

wolves: jordan hill

lakers: Anthony davis

quote:

07 Feb 2015 18:33:54
Lakers - Jrue Holliday
Pelicans - Jeremy Lin, Ed Davis, 2018 unprotected 1st pick

Pels get solid bench depth with a value future 1st round pick and Lin off the books after this year to get a legit SF in offseason and Lakers get PG for years to come

LOL

That's really what I figured, just kinda irrationally freaked me out for a second. The website looking like crud should of given it away.
