Pelicans - Celtics
(trying to find a believe able Gordon trade)
Pelicans get G Wallace, E Turner
Celtics get E Gordon
Turner can help more this year with playoff push than Gordon. Wallace has supposedly been a great veteran leader, would be a better one if he had a chance to go to the playoffs
Celtics might be able to flip Gordon for an asset on his last year, assuming they can keep him healthy

one of two players we have that can actually hit open 3s
we'd be idiotic to trade him now. He's arguably our 2nd best player (not including AD)

Pretty much why I irrationally freaked out.

Budinger has been awful and has a $5m player option next season. I don't see any way that we trade for him unless we're ready to give up on the playoffs and dump Gordon for Bud + a few expirings.

I'm going to admit and say unless we're getting back a solid SG/SF (Afflalo, Batum, Butler, Matthews), I don't want to lose Gordon
Posted on 2/16/15 at 4:55 pm to htran90
One of the rumors I saw said Denver has been asking for multiple firsts for Afflalo or Chandler
Posted on 2/16/15 at 5:19 pm to htran90
If Gordon continues to play at his recent level, I think there's a good chance he will opt out for a long-term deal

Getting 2 firsts for mozgov has them high right now.

Wow, this might be the worst seriously trying to help a team trade idea I've ever seen.
Ryno for Tayshun Prince (who will probably get bought out if Boston can't use his contract in a trade)
I know this guy covers the Celtics, but he didn't even want Ryno and seemed to think this was a good deal for the Pels.

NEW ORLEANS PELICANS
The Pelicans (27-26) are back to being a .500 club after three straight losses – all at home. Even before those losses, there’s something about this team that makes one a little queasy when it comes to them making the playoffs in an always-stacked Western Conference.
You love what Anthony Davis has been doing this season. New Orleans went out and got a much-needed rim protector in Omer Asik. They bolstered the point guard position with the addition of Jrue Holiday.
And yet the more you watch this team play, they still appear to be a team in need of something to bring it all together.
Watch out for Ryan Anderson being on the move. He’s a stretch big man who has been inconsistent this season, but may thrive in new surroundings. Boston’s Tayshaun Prince could be a huge benefit to that team. Boston could try and involve a third team to send Anderson elsewhere since the Celtics don’t necessarily need a third big man who can stretch the floor from three-point range.

Cleveland was desperate because LeBron and Love have them by the balls. People might be holding out for similar pay days, but they aren't going to get it. I don't think any team is desperate to improve right now.

Thats what happens when coverage of the NBA is so local. Guys like that can a)make stuff up and b)pass it off as anything other than horribly stupid because his readers lack the perspective and context to see it.

Cleveland was desperate
While true, I certainly subscribe to the idea that JR/Shump/Mozgov was all one big deal. Cleveland owned the 2nd 1st for all of 24 hours and it was obtained specifically to facilitate the Denver trade. So they sent out a 1st and Waiters (+ filler) for Smith, Shump, and Mozgov. That's a healthy return for a time with a true win now mindset. Though that Memphis first has some lottery potential by 2017.
The real desperate move was OKC sending out a 1st for Waiters. Yikes.

at a player with negative trade value asking for a trade. Stauskis and Thompson to Toronto for Ross and Hayes/Fields?

Stauskas? Stauskas? Stauskas!
That trade makes some sense. Kings won't do it.
Not trade related, but here is a great read on Hinkie/Sixers method. The super tank is obviously controversial, but lots of interesting things they are doing beyond that as an organization.

Sources: Suns want to keep and re-sign Dragic, but to even consider a deal, they would minimally want player w/ All-Star potential and pick.
If the Suns make a move before deadline, it is far more likely to include Isaiah Thomas and/or Gerald Green, league sources tell Yahoo.
Posted on 2/17/15 at 1:31 pm to Jizzamo311
Gerald Green would be a helluva get. But I don't think we could swing it without throwing Ryno into the pot. Maybe try and get Brandan Wright too?

Wonder how low they sell IT? Since this is leaking now, I'm not sure they can sit tight and wait until the summer in the middle of a playoff race.

Dragic has become increasingly disenchanted with how the Suns' three-guard experiment with Eric Bledsoe and Isaiah Thomas has impacted him this season, and several league sources believe that to keep Dragic long term it's incumbent on the Suns to unload Thomas before the start of July free agency.
The Suns haven't completely closed the door on possible Dragic trades, but that scenario is extremely unlikely, league sources said. The Suns' asking price would be high – a young player with All-Star potential and significant draft compensation – and any deal would have to be with a team that Dragic wants to sign an extension.
