Will be curious to see what Pelicans do now that Jrue Holiday has re-aggravated leg injury -- a lot of post-season pressure in NOLA
Breaking News: Nothing.

Technically I gloated in this one first and then remembered that I started the last one about a month ago and was hated on for it.

Get a room you two. This thread is about moves we're not making.

Sorry. Back on topic.. I think it's more important now that we work on our 3rd guard than the 3. Qpon and Donte will be servicable there for now but Jimmer/TD/etc will kill us.
Still a shot at the playoffs!

between the two of them, there's enough from the 3 that keeps teams honest on the offensive end and enough defensively to not get manhandled.
As for backup PG, we're absolutely deficient. that Mo Williams trade would have looked mighty good right now...

Yet another reason to question the medical/training staff. Maybe Demps just didn't want Mo, but if he did get blindsided by this, I hope he's pissed off and making a case for changes/improvements to Loomis.

Rival executives are surprised by the report that Kevin Martin may be bought out after deadline. They didn't think MIN would consider that.
Could this be the 3rd guard we're looking for?

I'll be honest, haven't much of him but he is more off an off guard right? not really a guy to run the offense.

well in 24 hours we will know just how serious our management is about this season.

Yes he's a true shooter/scorer.
He'd be a great bench scorer and compliment to tyreke.
We do need a backup that can effictively set up guys though.

I saw that in Berger's update.
An interesting fit. Doesn't really solve the pg issues, but he can still score and he can play off ball. I wouldn't want to trade for his contract unless they're moving Gordon, but I doubt he picks NO if he's bought out.
What about a weird 3 way deal with Indiana and Minnesota?
Indy gets Gordon- hometown hero returns. With George coming back they seem to be going for the playoffs. With Gordon's recent form, maybe he gives their offense the punch it desperately needs.
Minnesota doesn't have to pay a buy out and takes back expirings for salary purposes
Pels get Hill, KMart, and filler. 2 guys that can play off ball to mesh with Holiday and Evans.

run the offense.
Gordon and Tyreke have done fine running the offense with Jrue out. Just put a little more PG duties on EG. Martin is still a 20 ppg scorer that gets to the line at a respectable rate. With Jrue out we're looking for the best 3rd guard.
Tyreke/Gordon/KMart > Tyreke/Gordon/Farmar

Isnt hill a sound defender too?
Posted on 2/18/15 at 2:49 pm to LosLobos111
Yep.
I don't really think Indiana does that. Maybe, maybe, if they can get Gordon to agree to opt out and re-sign for less money?

This isn't bad, but isn't one of Indiana's problems that Hill isn't a penetrating playmaker? You go from 2 guys that can create off penetration to Tyreke and a bunch of jump shooters. In theory that works, except you're entirely dependent on Tyreke as your lone playmaker. If he's having a hero ball night or is injured you're in trouble.

Yep. A fair worry.
But the Pels have Davis. His gravity will help Hill. Plus if they are smart about spacing with Hill (have Anderson/QPon/Jimmer off ball with him), they might be able to create creases for him. The Pacers just don't have threats like that and they run an uglier offense than the Pels anyway.

A team of(when healthy):
Jrue/Hill
Kmart/Tyreke
Qpon/Dante
AD/Ryno
Asik/Ajinca
Could mix/match like crazy and that spacing problem would be a thing of the past.

Definitely agree, was just making sure i remembered him right. Would be an even better fit if Jrue comes back this season. you would have jrue and Gordon starting with reke and Kmart off the bench. that's a serious guard rotation.

I stand by what i said. You are making a definitive medical prognosis on a guy youve never even been in the same room as while having no expertise in the field of medicine. Happening twice in a calender year isnt chronic.

That's even more money in the backcourt than what we have now. At least when Evans plays SF, you are kind of spreading the money around. 4 guys/40M backcourt (all over 7M a year) and not one of them is sniffing an all star team or all NBA team. That's a recipe for disaster and why the team is constantly underperforming..
