He was a potential project that didn't pan out.

The tepid, at best, recruitment of Mason Rudolph might hold the answer.

Dude, we recruited a ton of QBs, they all left. Nobody seems to want to sit here for 3-4 years it seems.

Yeah, because he could never get better throwing to those top of the line receivers after failing his first ever start

Randall and Rettig may well have been part of the plan, as well. It seems that Retrig fell out of favor. It's unfortunate the Randall didn't stay, because he might have been as good or better an option than Jennings or Harris this season.

It's too bad CLM has a suite for a doghouse

The plan was Stephen Rivers, he ended up sucking so bad he couldn't hold the starting spot at Vandy

I wonder why.

Cameron said he did not do a good job this year. I agree.

Gunner Kiel
This is the answer to the question. His backing out at the last minute ruined the transition process in terms of going from one experienced QB to another.

He was only committed to us for 30 days, no? Couldn't have been that big of a factor in our plans.

A bigger factor is that our starting 3 WRs also left for the NFL and we were green at WR too - not a recipe for success

Rivers like Randall was a project QB. Saw both play this season and IMO, they still are. Zach Lee would've been a great one LSU. I'm betting he wishes he had stayed. The initial money was great, but he's drifted into oblivion since. He'd done much better long term in the NFL.

I've said it before, CLM recruits too many project QBs. We have one now in McMillan. Ohio State does not and its why they're in the playoffs.

that would be a horribly shitty plan. Our staff needs to take a long hard look at its self if we can't manage to recover from a baseball prospect not coming.

Ryan Perriloux's fault we don't have prepared QBs.

Those top 10 QBs don't get developed at LSU.

Dual threats running a 1960s prostyle offense

How are we STILL blaming Perriloux for having a terrible offense? You guys cannot be serious. You guys act like JJ would have been a better QB had he just not gotten game time experience that early.

makes a lot of sense, given what we've seen on field whenever JJ was and AJ is out there.

Its because JL threw INTs in 2008 and messed up Les' mind.

Was sarcasm we've been through 3 offensive coordinators since Jimbo and there's one constant in the shitty offense and that's Les Miles.

We were a run heavy team that could not throw the ball at all and we still didn't have a 1000 yard rusher. Think about that for a minute.

Super point. And couldn't agree more with the rest of your argument. The staffs inability to provide a competent QB is inexcusable and incompetent IMO.
